HISTORY

The LGRRC DOSE was formally established on September 2006 with the creation of the LGRC Core Team, Technical Working Group and Support Staff through Regional Order No. 2006-108. A space at the regional office was provided to house the physical structure of the Center. Similarly, procurement of equipment (i.e. desktop computers, digital camera, video camera, scanner, computer printers, projects or LCD) and construction of a mini-library to house reference materials were done. Regional personnel were sent to trainings, seminars, and conferences related to the strengthening of the LGRRC. Close coordination with the Local Government Academy (LGA) was conducted to ensure the LGRRC’s success and sustainability.
On March 8, 2016, DILG XII presented the objectives of the LGRRC and proposed the creation of the Multi-Stakeholders Advisory Council (MSAC), which will serve as an advisory panel and technical working group of the LGRRC, during a special meeting attended by heads of various regional line agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and private sector organizations at FB Hotel, Koronadal City, South Cotabato. The said presentation was followed by two more meetings last June 2, 2016 and May 25, 2017 at DOLE Philippines Compound in Polomolok, South Cotabato and at Viajera Dine & Café in Koronadal City, respectively, where the Council’s membership and the promotion of cohesiveness among member agencies, institutions, and organizations were discussed.
